Work Place Dialogue (WPD):- Walmart’s social dialogue project has all the essential elements and objectives to increase workers’ voices and improve industrial relations. It also highlights the importance of not viewing bipartite social dialogue as the end goal. Instead, Walmart’s implementation of bipartite social dialogue at their suppliers’ factories should serve as the stepping stone toward tripartite social dialogue where trade unions can empower workers in the readymade garment sector. Wage Management System (WMS):- Walmart wants all workers in its supply chain to get a Fair Compensation for the work they do. Part of this commitment will ensure a robust and functional Wage Management system within all factories. The definition of a functional Wage Management System for Walmart is: A wage management system that at a minimum has the below 4 mechanisms embedded and executed within its human resource organization.
Proper and correct payment of wages according to individual contracts, legal regulations and existing collective bargaining. Internal development of human resources policies and processes to ensure competitiveness, high motivation and a sustainable social climate in the factory. A progressive and coherent pay system that rewards workers according to their, skills, education, performance and experience. Proper mechanisms of workers’ involvement in factory decisions that generate a process of communication and possible negotiations on the content of wages and payment structures
